Rain Gardens In Noble Park

RainForma rain gardens capture, slow, and filter stormwater before it enters the drainage network while creating an attractive landscape feature you’ll actually want to see.

Whether you’re building a new home, upgrading an existing property or planning a multi residential development, we can recommend a RainForma system to suit your site.

TURN STORMWATER INTO PART OF THE LANDSCAPE

Traditional drainage moves rainwater away as quickly as possible.

A RainForma rain garden takes a different approach.

Rainwater from your roof, driveway, or paved areas is directed into a specially designed planted system where the water is temporarily captured, slowed, and filtered before being safely drained or discharged.

Why US

Why Choose a RainForma Rain Garden?

Complete System

Avoid trying to source planters, filter media, drainage components and fittings separately. RainForma provides a coordinated system designed around the project.

Flexible for Different Sites

From compact residential blocks and selected downpipes to new homes, townhouses and larger developments, RainForma offers modular solutions for a wide range of applications.

Straightforward to Install

Clear system components, installation guidance and project support make it easier for builders, plumbers and landscapers to get the system installed correctly.

HOW IT WORKS

How Does a Rain Garden Work?

01

Rainwater enters

Rainwater runoff from roofs, driveways, paved areas, and other hard surfaces is directed into the rain garden through a carefully positioned inlet. Rather than allowing stormwater to flow immediately into conventional drainage infrastructure, the rain garden captures water close to where it falls.

The inlet and surrounding landscape are designed to guide water into the system while helping control flow and minimize erosion during heavier rainfall.

02

Water is detained

Once inside the rain garden, stormwater temporarily collects within a shallow surface storage area. This detention slows the movement of water and reduces the rate at which it enters the downstream stormwater network.

By temporarily holding and gradually releasing rainfall, the system can help reduce peak stormwater flows during rainfall events. The rain garden is designed to drain between events rather than remain permanently filled with water.

03

Media and roots filter

As the stored water moves downward, it passes through specially selected filter media and the active root zone of the plants.

The filter media physically captures sediment and suspended material, while the soil, microorganisms and vegetation contribute to natural treatment processes. Depending on the system design, rain gardens can help reduce pollutants and nutrients carried in urban stormwater.

The plants also play an important role. Their roots help maintain the structure and biological activity of the filter media while creating an attractive landscaped feature above the stormwater treatment system.

04

Water drains or overflows

After passing through the filter media, treated water is managed according to the site’s drainage conditions and system design. Where appropriate, some water may infiltrate into the surrounding soil. Other systems use a perforated underdrain to collect filtered water and discharge it to an approved drainage point.

For rainfall events that exceed the rain garden’s temporary storage capacity, a dedicated overflow provides a controlled pathway for excess water. This allows the system to manage everyday rainfall while safely accommodating larger storm events.

Together, the inlet, detention area, vegetation, filter media, drainage and overflow create an integrated system that captures, slows, filters and manages stormwater within the landscape.

Rain Gardens for Australian Homes

Real time engineering metrics validated across heavy urban downpours and structural installations.

Building a New Home?

Planning your rain garden during the drainage and landscaping stages makes it easier to integrate the system into your property from the beginning. RainForma can work from your plans, proposed downpipe locations and roof catchment to help identify a suitable approach.

Upgrading an Existing Home?

You don’t necessarily need to redesign your entire property. Selected downpipes can be redirected into a compact rain garden, allowing you to introduce stormwater treatment while adding a new landscaped feature. Send us a photograph of the proposed location and we’ll help you understand your options.

Planning Townhouses or a Development?

RainForma’s modular systems can provide repeatable stormwater solutions across multi residential projects while integrating with the landscape design. Talk to us early in the project and we can help identify appropriate products, connections and installation requirements.
